A place for people, often strangers, to gather and discuss death.

A forum 'to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives'.

Conducted in a safe, respectful and confidential space

A Death Cafe is not...

A place to give people information about death and dying - regardless of how good or important one may think it is.

for people who, for whatever reason, aren't able to discuss death comfortably and openly.

A bereavement support group or grief counseling session.
